Captain : Simon Hughes

Simon joins "Clevelander" this year for the Caribbean charter season, from another Swan in Norway. He started sailing when he was 5 years old on small dinghies in England and was brought up sailing on the challenging waters of the Channel Island of Guernsey. After a short stint as an accountant he decided to make his hobby his profession and has been running yachts for 17 years all over the World. He brings an air of calm professionalism to the yacht, with an emphasis on people having fun in safety. With several years experience in the Caribbean and Mediterranean, Simon knows the best places to anchor and dive. As a PADI Divemaster he is happy to take other qualified divers out, and will also share his enthusiasm for all things relating to the water from wakeboarding to snorkeling and underwater photography.

Chef / Mate : Katherine

Katherine, a long time sailorette and yacht chef, joins the boat as chef for 2011.  Her Swiss Hotel School training and subsequent sojourn in Italy ignited her passion for delicious and healthy cooking. She will happily customize a menu for any dietary preference. Katherine hails from Malta originally and speaks fluent French, Italian and Spanish although she now resides in Southern Utah.  Katherine has been crewing on yachts since 1989 and when she is not in the galley preparing a fabulous meal, you’ll find her on deck helping to sail the boat and entertaining with her acoustic guitar.
